Changes
to
Single Payment Scheme
Following the announcement earlier this year with regard to
changes to the Scheme the latest ‘health check’ has now been
agreed as at the 20th November.
Although more detail is awaited when the Council Regulations are published
in December 2008 following are one or two of the main issues that have been
agreed :-
The end of set aside has been confirmed, confirming the announcement in July.
Set aside will not return, and set aside entitlements will be converted into
normal ones. Milk Quota will not be extended beyond the 31st March 2015.
There have been compromises in the area of modulation where the original
proposal was for compulsory EU rate to reach 13% by 2012. That has now been
amended to 10% in 2012.
There are further proposed amendments details of which will appear on this
page as and when the requisite information is forthcoming.
