Martin qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and then worked for a high street firm in Uttoxeter which later amalgamated with a larger group. Following the amalgamation Martin was a member of the group and the manager of 2 branch offices. Martin joined Nigel Davis Solicitors as a consultant in 2016.

Martin specialises in family law and private client matters. In relation to family law he has experience of the following:

  • Divorce and separation;
  • Financial settlements upon divorce;
  • Cohabitation agreements and separation;
  • Adoption;
  • Children issues;
  • Domestic violence and harassment.

 

In relation to private client matters he has experience of the following:

  • Wills;
  • Probate;
  • Inheritance Act and estate claims;
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney;
  • Deputyship

 

Martin has experience in conducting cases including advocacy in interim and final contested hearings in the Magistrates Court and County Court. He has also conducted cases in the High Court and the Court of Appeal. Martin has also dealt previously with cases before the Land Registry Tribunal.

He has also dealt with cases involving the Official Solicitor and the Court of Protection with experience involving cases where there are concerns regarding capacity to act.
